Bottling Mead for Competition

Post by truckpoetry »

So it looks like I will have some mead here shortly, and trying the samples out of my wine thief, I actually am thinking I am going to really enjoy it.

So, for the most part, I am thinking this is going to go into wine bottles and corked - but were I to want to bottle some of it and set aside for competition, what's the standard? Do people put them in beer bottles and cap them or which?

Thanks,
Cameron

Yes, just beer bottles and crown caps. It keeps just fine that way. Clear glass shows off the color an clarity but it's not necessary.
