Bluebonnet Brew-Off Peoples Choice Beers

Post by slackerlack »

Moderator: I split this off to its own topic.

Bluebonnet is all about showing off your BEST beers, so let's see if we can get a list of your best beer that you are bringing for the club kegerator. We have a total of twelve taps. If we have more than twelve kegs, then we will swap out the kegs every hour to try and give everyone's beer some time to pour.

Please list your name, beer name, and beer style you are bringing.

Please remember that if you are bringing a keg for the club kegerator, you must print out a BOL form and bring it with you to the event along with your beers! It is a violation of TABC regulations to transport your beers without this form!!!

I will be bringing a pale ale running through a Randall with centennial hops. I may come up with a fancy name for the beer later.

I can have one or two as needed. I have not decided what I want to part with yet.

Right now it looks like I'll likely bring a keg of Oatmeal Stout. Of course, I reserve the right to be fickle as that beer strikes me as a little heavy for a gathering like this ('cause the stuff is like a meal in a glass). I may brew something lighter (like a bitter) but if I don't do it this weekend it ain't happening and I have been known to be lazy. On the other hand, I would love to build up a nice yeast cake of Ringwold, we'll see what ends up happening. :D

There is no prize. So why have the competition? To be legal with the TABC.

I'll either bring a keg of roggenbeir or a triple.

We may want to consider bringing a couple of jockey boxes for the overflow.

Who has jockey boxes that we can use? At this rate, if we have 16 kegs, we will need at least four extra taps. So two jockey boxes with two taps will work. I have a igloo cooler that holds a keg with ice perfectly. I have a small Co2 tank and tap handle for that if needed.

Ok, we have at least two Jockey Boxes lined up. We need a table to sit these on, and possibly something to hold the kegs with some ice. We may be able to get away with the kegs sitting at room temperature. But that depends on the coil lengths of these Jockey Boxes.
