2012 Limbo Challenge Information Topic

We met last week for the first Limbo Challenge planning meeting.

Login/Judging at Fred and Sue David's

We discussed the decisions made at the wrap up meeting last September.  We decided to go ahead with the following category changes.

German Wheat will be recombined with Belgian and Sour Ales.  

Saison will be added to the competition, and will be included with German Wheat/Belgian/Sours.

American Brown Ale will be added to the American Ales category.

Other Smoked and Wood Aged Beer will be combined with Fruit and Spice/Herb/Vegetable Beer, into one medal category.

We decided to go ahead with allowing entries in 16 oz plastic bottles, as they fit in standard case boxes and survive shipping better than glass.

After some discussion, we decided to increase the entry fee to $8 per entry.


We discussed who will take on the roles of Head Steward and Data.  Larry Papkin will be Head Steward, and Jonathan Barrows will handle Data.

Awards:  Einar will coordinate awards through J Paul, same as previous years.  We need to obtain a really mangled lawnmower blade, and soon.  Need to confirm if Richard Harris will apply the gold leaf for the blade.  Einar will contact Rugby House about having the awards ceremony there.

Kelly has agreed to have HBHQ as the shipping site for entries.  Einar will coordinate drop-off sites in the FW area.

The next planning meeting will be Wednesday, June 6th, at The Catfish House, 3108 Old Denton Road, Ste 103, Carrollton, TX.

Limbo judging continues today. We have 6 first round flights left, plus second round and BOS. We need a good turnout today in order to finish up. Please consider coming out to help if you have some time.
