I'm out of this one since I won't be able to make it... c'mon folks... last two batches turned out good...

I will be there in the morning but I have to duck out around noon for a service opportunity with a local high school. Any chance I can help out in the morning and leave a 5 gallon bucket for later pick up? If so, I would be in for 5 gallons. If not, I will pass this time around.

Thanks!

Brian,

We likely won't have the wort ready until later in the afternoon in any event, so that should work out fine.

Thanks,
Erich

What kind of yeast is everyone planning on using?

I'll definitely chip in for 5 gallons. I didn't think that I would make it to the brew day, but serendipity (in the form of a car accident?), will allow me to make the brew day after all. I can help out however needed, whether it's grain milling, cleanup, unloading or loading the brew system.

To Brian's question on what yeast people are using for the Scottish Heavy 70/-, I plan on using Wyeast 1728 (plain and boring, I know).

Thanks,

Graham

It looks like I will have to decline on my 5g. I will be down in Kemp working on the brewery this weekend. I would like to taste some of these beers down the road as 60/70 is one of my favorite styles.

With Damon out that's 7 shares sold, so there's another 1 or 2 still up for sale.

Also, if any one has a pop up we could use, that would be really great, we are looking at a chance of rain on Saturday.

Looking at the weather forcast tomorrow, we may want the big-brew system in the garage for heat. It's going to be like a nasty January brewday without the ice.

On the yeast question, I'm going to be pitching WLP028 which is pretty much the same thing as Wyeast 1728; there both the McEwan yeast. For what it's worth, Jamil recommends WLP001/Wyeast 1056 for this style, so you may wish to consider that.

Is the aforementioned Hopville recipe the final grain bill? Could you let me know when your Hopville recipe and process notes are complete? I will connect to that from my Hopville account.

On a related note, Yeast is pitched (1728) and fermentation has started in earnest.
