Alamo City Cerveza Fest

Post by sirjohn »

The San Antonio Area Zymurgists are pleased to announce the 2007 Alamo City Cerveza Fest! The ACCF is open to all BJCP categories of beer, mead, and cider/perry. We have also retained our special pepper beer category, and 2007 is the Year of the Chipotle. The ACCF is AHA/BJCP sanctioned, and <b>judges and stewards are needed for this event</b>. Judging will take place in San Antonio on Saturday, July 28 (Double Dave's Pizza - Castle Hills location) and Saturday, August 11 (Blue Star Brewing Company). We will have a block of rooms reserved at a local motel for out-of-town judges/stewards for each judging session.

Please go to http://www.HordsOfFun.Com/hbc.rw/judgew ... 061714281F to sign
up to judge or steward the July 28 session, or to http://www.sabeergroup.org for the August 11 session. Email [email protected] for further details. To sign up for both sessions, you must follow both links separately.

Entries into the ACCF will be accepted July 7 to July 21. Entries (2 bottles) are $8 each ($9 if not entered online). Ribbons will be awarded to the top three entries in each category. 500 gallons of the Best of Show beer will be brewed at the Blue Star in San Antonio. Online entry registration will soon be available at www.sabeergroup.org.

Anyone who plans to judge at Cerveza Fest can sign up at www.sabeergroup.org/accfjudge.html . They said they'll feed you, give you beer, and throw in a T-shirt to boot.

<font size="5"><font color="red">ACCF Notice</font id="red"></font id="size5">

Due to low BJCP judge response to this weekend's first judging session of the ACCF, they are postponing that judging session. An exact make up date is not known at this time, but they will probably hold the make up session at the Blue Star on the afternoon of August 10 (Friday). If you are planning on being at the ACCF that weekend, arrive half a day earlier and help us get some more juding in!

They really need more judges for the event as they have over 250 entries, and this will break down into about 30 flights. Register to judge at www.sabeergroup.org/accfjudge.html .
