Co2 tank refill

Post by slackerlack »

I just got my new Co2 tank to start kegging. Where in the North Dallas area can I get it filled and not exchanged? Preferably somewhere near or in Carrollton.

I get my tank filled at Koetter Fire. Very reasonable prices.

I go to Garland Welding supply and swap. It will make your life easier to just let that shinny aluminum tank go :) Though once I swapped an aluminum tank at garland I have always gotten one back.

I've never found any near Carrollton that will actually fill the tank.

Brian at Winemakers Toy Store on 35 in Carrollton told me that they do CO2 exchanges. May be a bit more expensive but you can't beat the convenience if you live in the Carrollton area.

One other thing worth mentioning is you can buy filled reconditioned tanks at Koetter Fire for $58/10 gallon and $48/5 gallon.

Just a word of warning. If you're getting your tank filled somewhere that they don't offer cylinder exchange, you may not be getting a full tank. Also, keep in mind that though your tank may be brand new, it must be re-certified before re-filling after 5 years from manufacture date.

I ended up going to Koetter Fire, $10 for a 5lb tank fill up.
