I hope everyone has recovered from last weekend's festivities. We had another great showing at this year's Bluebonnet! Not only did we successfully defend the Bluebonnet Trophy, we have given ourselves an early lead in the Lonestar Circuit. We didn't have very many entries for the Alamo City Cerveza Fest, but we have an opportunity to make up for it with The Celtic Brewoff. Several of the numerous Bluebonnet awards we had, are in categories that will also be in the Celtic. I hope everyone who won awards, or at least had good scores at the Bluebonnet, in any of the Celtic categories, is considering entering in the Celtic this year. The entry deadline is this Thursday, April 4th. Entries can be dropped off at Homebrew Headquarters.

I entered a Special Bitter, if it doesn't score better than some of my Bluebonnet entries I am going to have to sit down with someone and figure out what is going on. This thing is almost indistinguishable from the Fuller's London Porter on visual, and the taste is great, not a clone at all but turned out similar. Longer finish than London Pride. Ours is on the right, it is actually closer than this picture looks, the London Pride is kind of blocking the sun coming in from the left.

This is a new one, didn't enter it in bluebonnet.

I do have a bottle of the Schwarzbier for you to try again, I'll see if I can have some fresh from teh keg too to see if the oxidation is from bottling or if you get it off the keg. Maybe club meeting next week.
