AHA Regional judging

It's official, we are going to host the "Old West" regional judging in the DFW area. I have created a Yahoo Group named "AHA_OldWest_DFW". All updates will be posted there. Membership to the group is open you just need to request it and I will approve.

We will be using The Winemaker's Toy Store as the official shipping point. Dates are not official yet, I will post them as soon as they are. That should occur sometime in December.

There will not be regional assignments for 2011. Participants will be allowed to send their entries to any one of the "judging centers". There will still be a limit of 750 entries per site. You can only send entries to one site.

If you are interested in assisting with the AHA regional judging planning meet with me before the club meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 11th at The Londoner in Addison. I will most likely be there around 6pm.

We need to hold a short but needed meeting to discuss items that we will need for judging. Many items are supplied by the AHA, the remaining will be procured locally by us. We will have a budget of $1600 from the AHA to pay for the items.

I will be at Rugby House about 6pm to eat. I will plan on starting the official discussions about 7pm. Come join me for a few beers if you can and are interested in helping.

I am still looking for someone who wants to be head steward. We can discuss what this person would do at the meeting.

This email is the initial request to ask for your assistance in judging the
NHC 2011 Dallas-Fort Worth Regional competition.

My name is Jimmy Orkin and I am the Judge Director for the NHC 2011 DFW
Region.

Here are the dates for the DFW Judging:

April 2 or 3, Login of beers
April 9-10 1st week Judging Sessions
April 16-17 2nd week Judging Sessions (if needed, we don't anticipate
needing)

Judging will occur at:

Coors of Fort Worth
2550 McMillan Parkway
Fort Worth, TX 76137-5001

For the out of town folks, we are working on discounted hotel rooms. More on
this as it finalizes by the end of the month.

We are planning to have an appreciation event on Friday or Saturday night to
thank you for your help.

At this point we would like to get a commitment for your attendance. This
will help us plan judge pairings in advance.
