Adam,

The score sheets and awards will be at Homebrew Headquarters this week. Call before going just to make sure that HBHQ has them.

The Post Event Review Meeting will occur on September 21 at 7:00 PM at Rugby House in Plano, 8604 Preston Road, Plano, TX.

We have a few items to fix in the rules. We need to talk about any category or sub-category changes. We will cover any changes we might want to make for next year.

I look forward to seeing your there.

Below is the sheet I typed up for the 2010 wrap up meeting. The next post will describe the decisions we made.

Limbo Wrap-Up Topics
September 21, 2010
Rugby House

Fruit beer entry count limit. There are no sub categories in BJCP fruit. We need to state a limit for fruit beers.

Existing wording: “Entries are restricted to one per sub-category, with no limit for the overall category.”

New wording: “Entries are restricted to one per sub-category, with no limit for the overall category except for Fruit Beer where there is a limit of X.”.

Posters next year?

Fix website categories: Other Smoked & Wood Aged Beer, should be 22B and 22C.

Need a formal login process.

Need a formal quality check process.

Wrong labels being applied to bottles. Change labels to letters?

Sub category adds of deletes?

Split any Categories?

2010 entry counts:
Light Lager 13 Entries
Pilsner 12 Entries
European Amber and Dark Lager 10 Entries
Light Hybrid 27 Entries
Amber Hybrid 6 Entries
English Pale Ale 16 Entries
Scottish and Irish Ale 11 Entries
English Brown Ale 15 Entries
Brown Porter and Dry Stout 13 Entries
German Wheat, Belgian and French and Sour Ale 23 Entries
Fruit Beer and Spice Herb Vegetable 17 Entries
Other smoked and Wood Aged Beer 3 Entries
Lawnmower 18 Entries

Light Hybrid – even split 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D
15A – 9
16A – 9
16B – 2
17A – 4
17B – 1

2010 Wrap-up meeting.

Attendees:
Kelly Harris
Don Trotter
Leroy Gharis
Jimmy Orkin

We decided that the limit on the "Fruit Beer & Spice/Herb/Vegetable Beer" category will be 3 for the entire category next year. Three Fruit beers can be entered if no Spice/Herb/Vegetable are entered. Only one Spice/Herb/Vegetable can be entered. If a Spice/Herb/Vegetable is entered, a maximum of 2 Fruit beers can be entered.

Also Fruit Beer & Spice/Herb/Vegetable Beer must be based on one of the other subcategories in the competition.

We need to create formal login process before next years competition.

We need to create a better quality check process.

We are going to change the cap labels to letters. The letter will start down the alphabet like at "K" to keep people from putting a "C" on a BJCP cat 3 bottle.

We decided not to split any categories.

We decided to add American Pale and American Amber for next year.

We may drop Smoke and Wood Aged beer if we get a low turn out in that category next year.

I will work with Damon to get the Limbo website updated with these changes.

Thanks for everyone that helped with the Limbo this year.

Jimmy -

On the front page on the Limbo site we mention that it is AHA/BJCP sanctioned, but do not have any mention of it being part of the Lone Star Circuit. When you get a chance you might want to add that and a link to the LSC page.
