Congrat's to our winners!
Cougar Brewing - 3rd Place Amber Lagers - Oktoberfest/Marzen
Wayne Yandell - 3rd Place Light Hybrids - American Wheat or Rye
BCS Brewing - 2nd Place Bitter - Standard/Ordinary Bitter
Cougar Brewing - 1st Place Spice/Herb/Vegetable Beer - Christmas/Winter Specialty Spiced Beer
Anthony Perea - 2nd Place Smoked Beer - Other Smoked Beer
Cody Gray - 2nd Place Cider and Perry - Common Cider
BCS Brewing - 2nd Place Frankenbier (special Dixie Cup category)
For those that don't know, BCS Brewing is Orlando Guerra & Damon Lewis, and Cougar Brewing is Kim Rhea, Melinda Beyer, and Leigh Grover.
Unfortunately BAM picked up a few more points than we did, so overtaking them in the Lone Star Circuit isn't in the cards this year. Hopefully Jeff Oberlin will become burned out soon!

This was my first year to go to Dixie and it was a great time! Very rowdy fun group.
The speed raffle was awesome!
Congrats on everyone's win.
Wayne.

I got a 42 and a 44 out of 50 for my Apfelwein and didn't even place!? There must've been some really good apfelwein there.

You will find that scores are only used to determine who gets to second round at the Dixie. Second round judging does not include any scores. From what I understand the second round is more like a mini BOS. No real qualitative analysis other than what the judges like. I have seen entries with lower first round scores place when higher scores did not place.
That is the facts as I know them. I will refrain from comments.

David-
You're not alone...I scored 45's and didn't place with my stout at a recent competition. And at the National COC for Octoberfests, my scores were also both 45's and with really nice comments like "where can I buy a case" and "an excellent representation of the style"...yet no medal. As most of us have realized, the great feedback is a little more important than the medals...but both would be nice!
Speaking of the Octoberfest COC, Orlando...where are the score sheets for the club version of that competition?
