2009 BJCP Class 6

Post by donniestyle »

Remember that we decided to move class 6 to October 11.

We will be holding class 6 at the home of Melinda and Brian Beyer. The address is 2117 Rheims Dr, Carrollton 75006. Here's a map:
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=211 ... 16&iwloc=A.

We are juggling the dates somewhat to make time for another class. We need to hold a separate session for the doctored beer session. We will set the date later, and it will probably be sometime in January. This means we will continue to move the remaining classes up as we go. Your input is needed in this process, so please try to attend as many classes as possible, so we don't schedule on a date you are unable to attend.

For class 6 we will be discussing Hops. We'll be using Ken Woodson's presentation on hops. You can access it here:
http://www.nthba.org/www/docs/Hops%20July%202007.ppt.

We will also be discussing the following BJCP categories.

BJCP Category 6 http://www.bjcp.org/2008styles/style06.php, presented by Einar Jonsson.

BJCP Category 7 http://www.bjcp.org/2008styles/style07.php, presented by Chuck Homola.

The commercial beer will be provided by most everyone this time. We split up the possible purchases at yesterday's meeting. Some examples are coming from out-of-state, so you will be rewarded if you can attend. If anyone has some home brewed examples, you are welcome to bring them for comparison.

See you Sunday October 11.
