It has been a long time since we met there. We met at the Addison location 1.5-2 years ago, and I can't remember ever meeting at the Greenville location.

I'll be beertendering in the "Big Thirsty" hospitality room from 1:30 until 2:30 or 3, but can help after that. Be sure to stop by for fuel/refreshment!

I have a water softener and when I'm not using a lot of roasted grain in a recipe I will typically add some gypsum to replace the calcium which the softener removes. I'm taking a guess, though, as to my initial water chemistry. Oneathesedays I will have a sample analyzed.

Fred David and I will be brewing a Maibock tomorrow and splitting the batch. Each half will be fermented with a different yeast. It would be interesting to do a taste comparison sometime this summer. Tonight I will bottle the oatmeal stout that I brewed at the January brewday. What's brewing at YOUR...

Kevin- You are in luck! For a lot of folks, feedback is one of the main reasons that they enter their beers into competition. The Bluebonnet is good for this because there is a great chance of having experienced judges sampling your brew. For every entry you will get at least two completed BJCP judg...

There are several areas where help will be needed during the event. The club needs folks to help set up the room crawl room on Friday afternoon. This will probably start in the early afternoon and needs to be wrapped up before the banquet starts. Beertenders are needed to run the hospitality suite d...

That is true. My dog doesn't like beer anyway - she turns her nose and walks away. However, if it's a real hop bomb she will actually growl at it!

Thanks to everyone who braved a cold, wet day to show up at the brew day yesterday! I brewed an oatmeal stout and Curtis Martin brought his equipment over and brewed a brown porter. Special thanks to Walter Hodges who let me borrow a propane heater that made the day much more bearable. Several folks...

Hey folks. As of now, I am still planning on having the brew day. Just looked at WFAA's website and now they are talking about significant ice and nastiness (as opposed to just rain). I've got a starter going and plan to brew, but please use common sense as far as getting out on the roads is concern...
