Re: Bluebonnet Login

Looks like the final numbers are in. 1797 entries, 183 flights. We will need plenty of judges. Car pooling is a good idea, bring a friend - or three. :D

Re: Bluebonnet Login

Things didn't go so smooth this year. We had issues with the new database system. It was taking forever to generate QC sheets, so we didn't finish QC until today. We finished first round pulls about an hour ago. Everything took longer today because we were short on volunteers, but we got it done. No...

Bluebonnet Login

A reminder to all, the Bluebonnet login is on Saturday. The entries are piling up at HBHQ and WMTS, and help is needed to get them to login. If you plan on being at login on Saturday morning, and can swing by either location to pick up some entries and bring them out to Coors, that would be greatly ...

Re: Franconia Explosion

This was bad, but could have been much worse. They had a tour of about 100 people there, and most of them were in the cold room when the fermenter blew. Someone took a picture of the bulging fermenter just a few minutes before it blew. I read that the person that was airlifted to Parkland, was treat...

Re: Alamo City Cerveza Fest

We won't need to have a formal packing party for ACCF. I am making arrangements to drive the club's entries down there on March 9th, rather than trust UPS or FedEx. As I mentioned at the club meeting on Tuesday, the ACCF dates are a few weeks earlier this year, and they were announced on somewhat sh...

Re: Barrel aging?

My two cents - I would transfer the batch you already have kegged. First, dice you are legging, it is no big deal to transfer back to a keg and recarbonate when you are done aging. Second, as you transfer the carbonated beer to the keg, the CO2 will come out of solution and help purge the oxygen. Th...

COC Judges needed

I apologize for the short notice, I thought I had posted this a couple of weeks ago. I am looking for 2 or 3 judges for the first COC. I am looking at judging tomorrow evening. Please email me if you are interested in judging.

My info about the Big Batch came from Orlando, our Lone Star Curcuit rep. Apparently, the Big Batch organizers informed the Lone Star Circuit reps, but have yet to update their website.

Re: BIG50 Batch #3

How about doing a big batch of Black IPA for the Big Batch Brew Bash in May? It would be great to see someone from this club win that. The Houston clubs really flood that competition with entries. We could produce 9 or 10 entries from one batch on the Big 50. In addition to the winner getting their ...

The payment option may not be enabled yet. I sent an email to the web site guy about this. I'll let you know when I hear back from him.
