Re: Joe's Ancient Orange Mead
Did a batch of orange mead.
Modified the recipe a bit. Juiced the oranges and microplaned one of them for some peel. Decided to see how fast it will clear up without all the pith in there.
Evertthing else was pretty much the same.

Re: NHC Judging Center - Denver
If there are no restrictions as to who can enter (i.e., winner of a COC or experience within the club), then I'd definitely like to enter two or three beers. The NHC is an open competition. If you are an AHA member its $10.00 per entry and $15.00 for non AHA members. AHA Membership for one year is ...

Re: BIG50 Batch #3
My share is still bubbling slowly today. I pitched Cooper's dry ale yeast and it has been in the garage so its fermenting on the cooler side.
I'll bring it in to warm up a bit and finish it out for a few days.

Re: Fermenting / Serving from Sanke beer kegs
Managed to find a block of time to drill and solder in a fitting. Note: USE COBALT BITS. 1/4" thick blanks will eat up all other bits. Don't cheap out and use cobalt coated either. This is my test fitting. I just cut the thread off a brass compression adapter and drilled out the stop. Roughed u...

Re: Air Lock popped off
It will be fine.
Very little chance of problems during an active fermentation.

Re: Fermenting / Serving from Sanke beer kegs
Modified the inlet / outlet on a sankey tap to have full flow. NPT 3/8 x 1/2" Hex nipple soldered into the chromed brass caps. A 3/8" NPT o-ring sealed fine on one but I'll need a flat gasket on the other side as I had a small drip. Pull the check valve and internal ball etc out of the tap...
