Re: Bluebonnet Needs
Scott....put me down for that 13:15 to 15:15 slot on Saturday. Not planning on doing the pub crawl so I may as well serve some beer while I am hanging out. Do you need to be TABC certified for this? Which brings up another subject.....I am getting certified next weekend so I can help serve beer at N...

AHA membership rally at St Arnolds on Feb 27th
There is an AHA membership rally this coming weekend at St Arnolds from 1pm to 3pm. I know its a bit of a drive for you folks from Dallas but it also coincides with the Worlds Championship BBQ Cookoff at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. So if you were so inclined you could drive down on Saturda...

Re: Greetings!
You won't find a better group of guys to learn to brew with and just to hang out with. I joined back in 2001 or so and even though I dont live in the Dallas area anymore I still try to keep in touch with them. I have been to a few club meetings with the different clubs down here in Houston and in my...

Re: Schwartzbier questions
I will have to look for that issue. I get both of those magazines but I have to admit I am a couple of months behind in my reading.
Thanks!
By the way....anyone coming down for the AHA rally at St. Arnolds? I believe it is Feb 19th but I will have to double check that date.

Schwartzbier questions
Without the ability to recirculate in order to step up the mash temps is it more trouble than its worth to try to do a multistep decoction for a Schwartzbier? I want to give this style a try but I don't have the ability to recirculate to raise the mash temp and I don't think I can just keep adding h...

Re: Top 15 Places to Get a Beer in Dallas, TX
Oh definitely the parking problems there are nothing like at downtown locations or places where you have to factor in $10 to park your car while you go in for a few pints. I only assumed in your post where you said parking problems count against a place that must have meant Petrol was number one bef...

Re: Top 15 Places to Get a Beer in Dallas, TX
On a typical night...no....parking is not that big of a deal. But try to go there anytime they are holding a special event like yesterday for example and you have to walk at least a block. Not a big deal when you arrive but certainly can be a problem if you have one too many Ten Fidys.

Re: Shirt mockup view
I will definitely take one of the tshirts at the Bluebonnet. I am coming up from Houston for the weekend. If you ever re-make the Dickies shirts I would like to get a 3XL in navy or hunter green if possible.
And I already found a roommate for the Bluebonnet too.

Re: Top 15 Places to Get a Beer in Dallas, TX
Solid list, but not as good as the Houston list 8) http://www.theferm.org/2009/09/top-15-places-to-get-beer-in-houston-tx.html I wonder the general consensus of putting a chain in the #1 spot... or an Addison bar. That being said, I prefer the Saucer in Addison over the Downtown Houston location bi...

Shiner Smokehaus is good to drink when its hot outside and you have the grill or smoker fired up. Along with St Arnolds Summer Pils its one of the staples in my beer fridge in the summertime when I am grilling.

Re: Bluebonnet Brew-Off Planning Committee
This may not be the place to ask and maybe its just not active yet but I cannot find a link to register for attending the Bluebonnet. Can somebody point me in that direction. On another note, I will be in town sometime on Thursday right after lunch the day before the event starts so if you guys need...

Sorry I havent had a chance to email you. My offer for space to crash is still available. We can house 3 comfortably without having to resort to folks sleeping on the floor. If any of you are still planning to come down please let me know. Unfortunately I dont have anything on tap for you to sample....
