Re: Thank you Hodges

I'll be entering a few competitions next year. I did not break my streak of Zero entries this year so I'll be making up for it. I was glad to see so many new faces at the party. I think next year with just a bit of encouragement to the new members we can pull down some competitions. BTW the trophies...

Re: Thank you Hodges

We enjoyed hosting. We estimate that there were more around 90 people at the party. Thanks for all the great food and beer that people brought and to Kim for staying on Texas de Brazil's butt to get the food delivered on time. If the party keeps growing, I'll have to annex the neighbor's garage too...

Re: BIG50 system Batch #2

All great ideas. I am ok with any style split.

Should we do a quick poll?

I ordered material to make a false bottom and will want to test the mash tun before we do the next batch so if anyone is interested in brewing with me we can do 10-15 gallons to test the mash tun.

Had my batch in the garage and brought it inside to keep it warm.

Still bubbling along.

Mike,

How did your share look after it settled? Did you pitch it as is or pour it off the debris?

BIG50 system Batch #2

I'm starting a new thread so we can discuss ideas etc for the next run on the 50 gallon system. Batch #1 worked out great. I'll be upgrading to a false bottom on the mash tun. BATCH #2 Idea for brew - Parti-gyle batch. For those who do not know, in its simplest terms, parti-gyle gives you two beers ...

Re: November Brewday

Rob, I enjoyed it. Have not had so much fun brewing in quite awhile and look forward to the next big brew day. I want to thank everyone who helped brewing yesterday. Lets start some ideas on what would be fun to do. We will put someone in charge of recipe and ingredient round up and free me up to ta...

Re: November Brewday

UPDATE: Rig is setup and casters are installed. Burners tested and working good. Heat times will be longer than my regular rig and I have to watch to keep from freezing up the propane tanks. I think I have everything to brew tomorrow. The chiller is made and tested for leaks. Then one thing I did no...

Re: November Brewday

What's the ETA for wort collection? The OSU-TT game was inconveniently scheduled for 11:00 a.m. I was thinking about watching the first half and showing up after lunch. Mike, I'll be there at least by 9 am. Not sure when the boil will be done. I'm sure its going to be after lunch before its all don...

Re: November Brewday

We have 9 people wanting part of the batch.

I'm going to increase the base grain bill.

We should have enough wort to do 50 gallons if we top up.
