Bluebonnet Committee Head Positions
Hopefully you know that the NTHBA is the hosting club for the Bluebonnet Brewoff for 2015. I have been asked what are the positions that need to be filled for next year. Below is the list of subcommittee heads. Some of these will be filled by people that have worked them for multiple years. I'll nee...

Re: continuing a conversation I started with Jimmy
I think an option here is to add category 23 Specialty Beer with the caveat that the beer cannot exceed 5% ABV to the limbo. It does overlap with the lawn mower category a bit. We can discuss this at the first Limbo Planning meeting. We also need to look at splitting the "German Wheat, Belgian ...

Re: Delayed Diacetyl
Bill, did you raise the temperature at the end of the fermentation to encourage the yeast to completely finish?

Re: Bluebonnet Brew-Off Peoples Choice Beers
Bill, Your name and address will be sent to the TABC to get authorization for you to transport your homebrew to the Peoples Choice Competition at the BB event. You are correct that many other brewers will be on that list. Your name was already given to the TABC to authorize you to transport your hom...

Re: AHA NHC 2014, Who entered?
It will be after work on Monday. I plan to get to the WMTS at about 6:00PM. I will bring boxes for the shipments. Remember to bring your paperwork and have the bottle labels on the bottles. I have 4 entries. Barrett has 4 entries. Ryan has 2 entries. We just need to put the bottles in the boxes and ...

Re: AHA NHC 2014, Who entered?
The NHC beers need to be in Austin March 10 - 17. I propose a packing party next Monday, the 10th. I am checking with Brian to see if we can do it at his store, The Wine Makers Toy Store.

There is no prize. So why have the competition? To be legal with the TABC.

I bottled last night also. I bottled entries for the Bluebonnet, Celtic and NHC. I had a good experience bottling. I'll talk about in my newsletter article.

AHA NHC 2014, Who entered?
I read on the AHA site that the lottery is done and the AHA is notifying lottery winners. They also reduced the maximum entry count to 4. Here is the link to the competition update. I entered 6 entries in the lottery. I also judged regional first round in Tulsa. I am wondering if the regional judgin...

Re: Who has a Blichmann TopTier unit?
I have a Top Tier. It has three burners. The HLT is up high and the MLT and boil kettle are low. I have a pump to recirculate the mash and pump over to the boil kettle. I use gravity between the HLT and the MLT. I use keggles for HLT and MLT. I got the MLT false bottom from Homebrew Headquarters. I ...
