Bluebonnet warmup

So anyone doing anything Wednesday or Thursday night before the Bluebonnet? I will be arriving late afternoon on Wednesday and will be staying with a friend up in the Plano area that night before checking into the hotel on Thursday. The plan is to head out for a pint or 2 Wednesday night somewhere.....

Re: What Do You Plan to Enter Into the Bluebonnet?

Man I cannot wait for the Bluebonnet. I missed last year because it coincided with the wife's spring break and we spent the week installing hardwood floors in the house. I know I am not part of the NTHBA any longer but I am entering the following as a member of the CIA. Wee Heavy English Mild Irish ...

Question about awards

Is there anyone on here who is familiar with where the Bluebonnet gets their medals made? We are looking for options for the CIA competition this year....Operation Fermentation. We are opening it up to a couple more styles this year and we will also have a Pro Am category that will get to brew with ...

Re: Survey Discussion

As a former member who still tries to keep up with the club I would like to chime in and say that one of the biggest things that helped me take that next step in my brewing was going to brew days and watching how other folks did it. Another step from that was being invited over to brew with Don Trot...

Re: NTHBA Made a Move This Year

My little club in Katy - The Cane Island Alers ended up with 23 points this year. We are very happy with that result considering this year is the first year that most of our members have ever entered a competition. We ran our first BJCP sanctioned competition this year also and are looking forward t...

Re: Barrel Aging 101

Our barrels were pretty fresh when we got them. Some of them still had a wee bit of whiskey left in them in fact. A quick rinse with sanitizer is all most of us did before filling the barrel.

Re: Barrel Aging 101

We did a group buy last year as a club here in Houston and purchased about 36 barrels from Balcones. We had a mix of blue corn whiskey barrels and bourbon whiskey barrels. You can use it 2 or 3 times as long as you practice good sanitation techniques. Keep in mind since it is a smaller barrel that i...

Spirit of 76

Looks like their website is down. I tried emailing Matt Morriss about it but his email is down too since it is tied to the site. If somebody has a way to get in touch with those guys you might let them know....in case they dont already know.

Re: Limbo 2014

Thanks! I am trying to rally my guys down here to send some beers in to support the Limbo Challenge. I know I will be sending a couple of beers myself....hopefully I can get some of my other club members to do so as well.

Do you guys have a webpage up with all of the details yet? I want to rally the CIA troops and get a bunch of entries sent up your way for this.

BCOE&M software

Anybody here know much about the BCOE&M software used to manage competitions? We completed our first round and I have recorded the scores but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create the flights for the second round. The help files are not very helpful in this regard either.

Re: New competition for 2014 - Katy, TX

Thanks for the plug Wally. I did see a few more NTHBA entries pop up. We are hoping next year to expand the styles and accept more than just one category. Baby steps....
