I am sure cooking in a slow cooker would work but not sure you would get the same flavor. I like the thought of cooking the corn in the...

Officers and Christmas Party
I would like to thank all of the officers for their efforts this year. The Christmas party was fun. Thanks to the officers for setting this up and making this happen. It's good that no one has to clean their house today after the party. Also thanks to everyone who brought food. It was a great spread...

Re: Bluebonnet 2013 Entry Countdown
There is no mention of when entries are due at the drop off sites. The rules only mention registration ends on Feb. 17th and login is Feb. 23rd. I assume the date they are due at one of the drop off sites is Thursday, Feb. 21st and they will be picked up on Friday, Feb. 22nd. Can someone confirm ple...

Re: Labor of Love - Fest of Ales - DEBC - Discussion
I would like to thank everyone that brought beer and tend the taps. The beer we served was good evidenced by the long line we had. I believe this was a good showing for our club. Thanks Jimmy for organizing it. If you were not there you missed a great time.

Re: Club Only Competition
Has judging of the Porter COC been completed? We obviously missed the date for the winner to send to the national COC competition.

Rodenbach in Texas
Found this on the Ben E. Keith web site about new arrivals. Rodenback A great family, a great beer. Rodenbach is rooted in a family tradition going back to 1714. The Rodenbach family produced great politicians, traders, authors and poets (including Georges Rodenbach, author of “Bruges la Morte”), bu...

Re: Getting Hops to be more prominent?
Jim, I had trouble getting the hop character I wanted in my beers until I started using RO water and building my own water profile based on the style of beer I am brewing. My water seems to work fine for porters, stouts and the like but is not correct for hoppy pale ales etc. Now I use RO water and ...
