A great brewer has passed

Past Bluebonnet Brewoff speaker and Belgian beer ambassador to the world, Pierre Celis, passed away yesterday. To all who enjoyed Celis White or Witbiers in general raise a glass in his memory. I was fortunate to sit down and talk to him for about an hour one day and just listen to a few of the stor...

Re: Bluebonnet Needs

Why do you need this on top of the CO2 tanks, manifolds, and regulators that the Bluebonnet bought for the Big Thirsty setup last year and should be in the storage unit? Unless someone has taken them, you shouldn't need much of anything for setup of either the bar or the jockey boxes. I would get wi...

Re: Brew Day this Saturday

Mike,

You used to be able to predict the coldest day of the year and have a brewday on that day. While it might be cold in the morning, mid 50's is really pushing it for a Mike Grover sponsored brewday. I think more research needs to be done to determine what day you host a brewday. :P

Re: 2010 Dark Lord Day

Hey guys, was looking around for a brewpub or two in the Chicago area and ran across one that opened fairly recently. Revolution Brewing. It is up in the north part of Chicago so was thinking this is more of a destination for Friday after a hard day of shopping. The brewer appears to have a decent h...

Re: 2010 Dark Lord Day

Just trying to get a feel as to when people are coming in and where they will be staying. My sister is going to be out of town this year so won't be staying with her so I will need to find a place to stay. I'm thinking about flying in on Thursday and flying out on Monday (free ticket so better to us...

Wow, what a great quote!!! I think the old NTHBA server was faster than that POS they were using.

Re: 2010 Dark Lord Day

That was a pain in the arse to get tickets, but I did get some. Much easier last year when people just woke up to find the e-mail that they were available and not having to fight 5K people on a crappy server.

The next planning meeting is scheduled to be after the officers meeting at Brian Beyers house if I remember correctly. I'm guessing that will be July 7th. I'll be out of town that week so just e-mail me what all was decided. If Damon is revamping the registration page then as long as the same info i...

Re: Ultimate Beer Run

Guys, One thing to remember, the Chicago area has beers we can't get here in Texas. Think of this as a large beer run. I'm looking at going up a few days early to visit my sister who lives about 45 minutes away from FFF's. I will be flying up there but would contribute some for gas if you could driv...

Would you consider this a new beer or an old beer?

Was browsing the web and ran across an announcement that Pabst is being brewed again. They are supposedly using the old recipe as best they could put it together. Hopefully Pabst will do a better job on that than Michigan Brewing did on Celis, even though I probably won't buy any of it. http://www.m...
