That happened to me around my 2nd brew and I did have to repaint my kitchen ceiling...but the beer was fine! Now I usually just ferment cooler so it doesn't get active so quickly, but lots of people like blowoff tubes just in case, instead of an air lock. Good luck with your beer.

I have all the other equipment already...stir plate, 3 keggles, dedicated chest freezer for fermentation, etc. The stand is for fun, who knows maybe it will help with beer quality too.
