Chest Freezer Issues
I have been using my craigslist chest freezer as a keg server for a little over 2 years. I have a temp controller set at ~45 degrees F. Yesterday I notice that it wasn't cooling lower than 58 degrees F. I opened the lid and noticed a lot of ice buildup in one area along the back but it was barely co...

Re: Ward Lab Water Analysis?
Attached is an analysis of Carrollton water and the same water RO filtered from 2008. Carrollton is part of Dallas's water system. Thank you for the data. When I put it in kaiser_water_calculator it seems tough to get that into the ideal estimated mash pH range. It looks like I need to add 3 grams ...

Re: Joe's Ancient Orange Mead
I'm thinking about experimenting with mead making. Any tips on honey? Is the stuff at Wal-Mart of Sams good enough for this recipe?

Re: MOTOR UP - Motorizing the malt mill
Looks good. Anyone know of a direct drive motor that would work? I've scoured the internets and it appears most use the beefy bodine but it appears these aren't made anymore. I assume I need something with around 150 RPM and 50 inch-lbs torque.

Plate Chiller
Does anyone here use a plate chiller? I'm looking for some feedback on how well they work compared to a 50' copper immersion chiller and what type (if any) pre-filter is used to ensure that pellet hops do not clog the chiller. Thanks.

Has anyone mounted or seen a whole house cartridge filter of this stand? If so, I'd love some ideas. Thanks.
