Re: AHA 2011 Regional Judging

You are correct that planning meetings are over by the end of February for the Bluebonnet but a large portion of the work has just started. Also, while this forum is a good way to discuss this among a few(mostly rah rah go for it) individuals, it does not come anywhere close to addressing the entire...

Re: LP to natural gas conversion

Acutally, I am looking for someone who has already made the switch. I have found the burners I want and I have NG in my brewery. The math says that NG per BTU cost is about 26% of LP. What I am looking for are things like time to boil of 10 gallons. Theoretical calculations are great for getting you...

LP to natural gas conversion

Has anyone converted from propane to natural gas? If so, has it proved 8) time efficient or does it add time to your brew day? Secondly, what is the BTU output of the NG burner compared to the previous LP burner?

Re: AHA 2011 Regional Judging

Rather than just casting aspersions on previous posts, I challenge everyone who is considering saying yes to this to put their money where your mouth is and get seriously involved in the Bluebonnet. Only one individual who has posted in the positive in this discussion showed up at the Bluebonnet pla...

Steve Haney needs a ride

Steve Haney is still living down in Podunk, TX but will be up in Dallas this weekend, 3/15-16, and would like to judge at Coors on Saturday. The problem is that he only has one car and needs a ride back early in the afternoon due to other plans. I can get him there but is there anyone out there who ...

Re: BB Entry Fees

Based on past experience, it has taken up to a couple of months for checks to clear for the Bluebonnet. This seems to be about normal. I wouldn't worry too much about whether your entires made it into the competition. I will contact the data guyto see if you were if everything is ok and I will let y...

Second weekend of first round judging

Calling all judges!!! We managed to get through a record number of flights the first weekend of judging but we still have a long way to go. If we can manage to have as many people show up for judging this coming Saturday 3/14 it might be possible to not have to judge again on Sunday the 15TH. This w...

Re: Water Analysis for Dallas County

Most towns in the north central/eastern part of Dallas (Garland, Richardson, Plano, etc) get their water from Lake Lavon. This is mananged by the North Texas Municipal Water District. You can get monthly water reports from them at: http://www.ntmwd.com/WaterQuality.html. 8)

Bluebonnet First Round Judging 3/7-8, 3/15-15

We set a record with entries this year with 1286. Before all is said and done we will probably have just over 1300 as some are still floating around in delivery land. This said, we are going to need all the judging help we can muster. This year is about 140 entries more than average and it takes us ...

Walter called me and said he will be out of town this weekend. So everyone needs to supply their own method of cooling and serving. I will bring my jockey box which can handle two kegs.
