Re: Christmas Party

We got this note Charlie, so I am reading this as "yes" you can pay your dues and fill out an application at the party: All, The NTHBA Christmas Party has grown so large that we feel we need to try to put some limits on the party. The officers have decide to limit the Christmas party to pa...

Re: Christmas Party

I wouldn't say "interesting" but I'll bring a few bottles of something in a cooler. I think I'm out of my bacon-infused Porker Porter, but I may have some vegetarian beer options like my pumpkin beer or cyser around. Granted, if I had CO2, I could have kegged up the Kolsch I have in my car...

Re: Christmas Party

Are there details on the Christmas party posted anywhere? Do we need to bring food/beer/whatever in addition to white elephant gifts and canned food donations?

Looking forward to it...

Re: NEW BABY IN TOWN!

Congrats and welcome to the "what do I do with this child" club. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with ours at 16 weeks.

Re: Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

How do you get the oranges and cinnamon stick OUT of the carboy? Do they just slide out?

New Baby!!!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that my daughter Mackenzie Whitt Mathews was born last week, Monday, 8/23 at 5:52 pm. She was 20.8 inches long and 7 lbs 7 oz. We're home now and everyone is doing great (except for a little lack of sleep). Hopefully I will see you guys maybe at the October meet...

Congrats... yeah I totally screwed this one up and missed the deadline. Oh well, time to drop that beer into the Celtic or something I guess.

Congrats Bluebonnet winners

I didn't see the full list of names, but I saw Scott placed in like 100 categories and Orlando and Damon picked up something (second place?) early. Also saw Kelly and Don in there somewhere. Congrats to them and everyone else that won something!!!

Re: Top 15 Places to Get a Beer in Dallas, TX

Well, if it were the top 15 places to get a beer in Dallas, I guess it's not a bad list. But since there are places listed outside of Dallas proper (Biersch in Plano), I'm not so sure. Some of those places (Milo Butterfinger's,etc.) while having some great atmosphere don't really have great beer sel...

Re: Recipe Books

Hmmm - this IS an interesting idea. I would love to put together a recipe book - it would be nice if it could contain a recipe for every BJCP style... and nicer if we had recipes that had won awards places... but by my math that's probably more difficult than it seems given the likelihood of someone...

Re: Top six BBO club entry totals

Hmmm - interesting to see the raw numbers play out, since I personally entered more this year than last (and in my opinion, better beers than last year, too, so that's a good thing). I'll be curious to see the breakdown, too, by category of entries, if that's available. I am always curious which cat...
